Chile / Limburg / Bergisch Gladbach (ots) - Ein zweites Mal innerhalb weniger Wochen hat das Team Matthias Jeschke eine neue Höhenweltrekordmarke mit dem Pkw gesetzt. Wie erst jetzt bekannt wurde, erreichte der Limburger mit seinem Toyota Landcruiser am 04.03.2005 um 16.00 Uhr Ortszeit am Ojos del Salado in Chile die absolute Weltrekordhöhe für Kraftfahrzeuge von 6358m über NN.
Mit diesem Ergebnis hat Jeschke nicht nur seine eigene Bestmarke um mehr als 300 Höhenmeter überboten. Zugleich hat er damit das spektakuläre Wettrennen um den Höhenweltrekord, das er sich in den vergangenen Wochen mit dem Team Rainer Zietlow auf einem VW Touareg lieferte, eindeutig und nachhaltig für sich und für Toyota entschieden. Jeschke hatte zunächst im Januar 2005 als erster eine neue Höhenweltbestmarke von 6033 m ü. NN (Nasa-Daten) gesetzt, allerdings mit den Widrigkeiten des bolivianischen Winters zu kämpfen. Dennoch erregte sein geglückter Rekordversuch viel Respekt und weltweites Aufsehen.

Wenige Wochen darauf mühten sich Rainer Zietlow und Ronald Bormann auf einem VW Touareg und unter Einsatz von Sauerstoff und Seilwinde auf eine Höhe von 6080 m ü. NN. Obwohl seitens des britischen Gremium des Guinness Buchs der Rekorde noch zu klären war, ob der Einsatz der Seilwinde überhaupt erlaubt ist, stand für Jeschke fest: "Das lassen wir nicht auf uns sitzen!"

Umgehend startete er wieder nach Chile um sich den erneuten Strapazen in verdammt dünner Luft und erheblichen Minustemperaturen zu unterwerfen, fest entschlossen, sich den ersehnten Rekord in 6300 m ü. NN doch noch zu holen. Nach Angaben von Volkswagen Deutschland ist Rainer Zietlow zur Zeit mit seinem VW Touareg international "on tour", um von seinem Erfolg zu berichten. Leider hatte sein Höhenrausch nicht sehr lange Bestand.

"Wir hatten euch und uns versprochen, für eine noch größere Höhe zu kämpfen und haben dieses Versprechen auch eingelöst!", berichtete ein überglücklicher Jeschke kurz nach seinem endgültigen Triumph seinen Freunden und Förderer.

Bei aller Abenteuerlust und einer sicherlich großen Portion
Besessenheit: Jeschke ist ein erfahrener Off-Roader und besonnener Rallye-Fahrer, der sich in der europäischen Szene als Experte einen Namen gemacht hat. Jeschke und sein Rekord-Team waren auch beim zweiten Mal top vorbereitet und sorgfältig akklimatisiert. Ein Einsatz von Sauerstoff kam für sie nicht in Frage.

Der Ojos ist der welthöchste Vulkan mit einer Gesamt-Höhe von 6952 Metern, gelegen in der Atacama-Wüste, einer mondähnlichen Landschaft, geprägt durch Geröll, Sand und Steine, der trockensten Wüste der Welt. Der erneute Rekord, der Jeschke jetzt wieder am Ojos del Salado gelang, war eine Bewährungsprobe nicht nur für den Menschen, sondern auch für das eingesetzte Material. Nach dem neuerlichen Erfolg in noch größeren Höhen sprechen Experten von einer eindrucksvollen Demonstration der Belastbarkeit und Leistungsfähigkeit automobiler Technik im Geländewagenbau.

Übrigens: Das nächste Abenteuer steht Jeschke schon wieder bevor. Der 34jährige wird demnächst Vater.

New High Altitude WorlD Record: Jeschkes Team reaches 6358 meters on a Toyota Landcruiser


Chile / Limburg / Bergisch Gladbach (08.03.2005) – ar. Within few weeks Jeschkes team set a new high altitude world record mark a second time. On march, 4, at 16:00 h local time, the limburgian reached the absolute high altitude world record for motor vehicles at 6358 meters on the Ojos del Salado in Chile on a Toyota Landcruiser.
By this result Jeschke has not only beaten his own best mark by 300 meters. At the same time he won the spectacular world record competition, which he had entered in the last weeks with the team Rainer Zietlow on a VW Touareg - for himelf and Toyota. In January 2005 Jeschke at first had set a new high
altitude world best mark at 6.033 meters (NASA-data), but he had to fight the adversities of the bolivian winter. Nevertheless his success excited high respect and worlwide attention.
A few weeks later Rainer Zietlow and Ronald Bormann equiped with oxygene and cable winch made an effort on a VW Touareg coming up to 6080 meters. Although it not yet has been cleared by the british gremium of the guinnes book of world records wether the use of a cable winch is allowed, Jeschke decided on the spot: “We are not going to take that!”
Immediately he started to Chile where he repeatedly submitted himself to the strain in thin air and under considerable minus temperatures, determined to regain the longed for record in 6300 meters at the end. According to the information from Volkswagen Germany Rainer Zietlow is actullay on international tour with the Touareg in order to report on his succes. Unfortunatly his high altitude euphoria has not lasted very long.
“We had promised you and ourselves to fight for an even higher altitude and we kept our promise!” Jeschke reported overjoyed his friends and sponsors shortly after his final triumph. Even considering all thirst for adventure and an immense obsession: Matthias Jeschke is an experienced off-road driver and a prudent ralley driver, who is known as an expert in the european scene. Jeschke and his team had been top prepared and carefully acclimatized for their second attempt as well. The use of oxgene was out of question.
The Ojos del Salado is - with an altitude of 6952 meters - the world highest vulcano, situated in the Atacama desert, in a moonlike landscape, characterized by pebbles, sand and stones. The new record, which Jeschke achieved on the Ojos del Salado , has not only been an acid test for the team but for the used material as well. After the recent succes in even higher altitude experts talk about an impressive demonstration of the capacity and efficiency in automobile offroad technique.
His next adventure is waiting for Jeschke: The 34 year old is going to be father soon.

Limburg / Bergisch Gladbach (18.01.2005). Man muss schon über eine gehörige Portion Abenteuerlust verfügen, um bestimmte Wagnisse einzugehen. Ein solches Wagnis steht kurz bevor: die Bezwingung des weltweit höchsten Vulkans der Erde – nicht zu Fuß, sondern mit einem Pkw! Und dies in der Atacama, der trockensten Wüste der Welt, in einer mondähnlichen Landschaft, geprägt durch Geröll, Sand und Steine.Der Abenteurer aus Deutschland. Es ist der Limburger Matthias Jeschke. Das ehrgeizige Ziel des 33jährigen: eine neue Höhenrekordmarke mit dem Auto zu setzen und auf vier Rädern eine Höhe von über 6000 Metern zu erreichen - und damit auch den Eintrag ins Guinness-Buch der Rekorde.
Die bis vor kurzem bekannte Rekordhöhe stand bei 5726 Metern, aufgestellt 1999 von einem russisch-amerikanischen Team im Himalaya.
Die Chancen des Jeschke-Teams, jetzt auf über 6000 Meter zu fahren, stehen gut. Denn er schaffte bei einer Recherche-Tour vor einigen Monaten bereits nachweislich eine Höhe von 5915 Metern. Matthias Jeschke selbst ist ein erfahrener Off-Roader und besonnener Rallye-Fahrer, der sich in der europäischen Szene als Experte einen Namen gemacht hat. Mit Wilfried Studer aus Wolfurt/Vorarlberg hat er einen seit mehr als 20 Jahren erfahrenen Expeditionsleiter und Himalaya-Bergführer zur Seite. Dieser kennt die Anden wie seine Westentasche.Jeschke und sein 7-köpfiges Rekord-Team sind topp vorbereitet und sorgfältig akklimatisiert. Sie haben den welthöchsten Vulkan in den vergangenen Wochen intensiv erkundet und vermessen, um den optimalen Track für die Weltrekordfahrt festzulegen. Nach der Akklimatisierungsphase in verschiedenen Wüstencamps sind die Abenteurer jetzt auf dem Weg zu ihrem Ziel.. In großen Höhen wird die Luft ziemlich dünn, das Wetter mit Temperaturen von minus 20 Grad unter Null verdammt frostig. Hinzu kommt eine gewisse mentale Anspannung kurz vor dem Rekordversuch. Eine weitere wichtige Komponente: Wie reagiert die automobile Technik? Nicht nur Menschen, auch
Fahrzeuge brauchen Sauerstoff. Der bevorstehende Rekordversuch ist somit nicht nur ein Abenteuer für die Menschen, sondern auch eine Bewährungsprobe für das eingesetzte Material und eine eindrucksvolle Demonstration zum Stand der automobilen Technik im Geländewagenbau.
Fahren wird Jeschke den Rekordversuch über Steilhänge, Geröll- und Gletscherfelder mit einem Toyota Landcruiser. Zu den Ausrüstern, die das Rekord-Team unterstützen, zählen u. a. die Industrie-Partner Taubenreuther-Warn, Panasonic, Haca, Ursa, Delta 4x4 und France Telecom. Zur Dokumentation des Rekordversuchs selbst dienen Leica Laser-Entfernungsmesseräte.

Limburg / Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. One has to be adventurous to risk a particular hazardous enterprise. Such an enterprise is lying ahead: The conquest of the world highest vulcano – not by foot but in a car! Through the Atacama Desert, the dryest desert of the world, through a moonlike terrain which is determined by pebbles, sand and rocks. The adventurer comes from Gemany. It ist the Limburgian Matthias Jeschke. The ambitious aim of the 33 year old: to set a new altitude world record mark by car and to reach 6000 meters on four wheels – and to be registered in the Guiness Book of Records. The altitude record which is known up to now, lies at 5726 meters, set up in 1999 in Tibet by a russian-american team in the Himalaya.
His prospects now to drive up to 6300 meters are pretty good. Some months ago, during an investigation tour, he managed 5915 meter. Matthias Jeschke is an experienced off-road driver and a prudent ralley driver, who is
known as an expert in the european scene. With Wilfried Studer from Wollfurt/Vorarlberg Jeschke has a 20 years experienced expeditionleader and Himalaya mountainguide at his side. Studer knows the Andes by heart.
Jeschke and his 7 men record team are top prepared and carefully acclimatized. And during the last weeks they have thoroughly explored and surveyd the world
highest vulcano, in order to plot the optimal track for the world record attempt. After the acclimatization in several desert camps the adventurers are now on the way to their aim. At high altitudes the air becomes quite thin and the weather with temperatures at minus 20 degrees Celcius / minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit gets damned frosty. Added by the mental stress shortly before the record attempt.
Another important component: How does the automobile technique react? Not only human beings but vehicles need oxygen too. The record attempt which is lying ahead, is therefore not only an adventure for the team but an acid test for the used material as well and an impressive demonstration of the latest developments in off-road technique.
Actually Jeschke will drive the record attempt over steep ascents, slopes of pebbles and glacier fields in a standard converted Toyota Landcruiser. The suppliers, who support the record team, are among others the company Taubenreuther-Warn, Panasonic, Haca, Ursa, Delta 4x4 and France Telekom. Leica distance measuring instruments are documenting the record attempt.

Nuevo experimento de un récord mundial –
Subir el volcán más alto del mundo en un automóvil
empezó la cuenta atrás


Limburg/Bergisch-Gladach - Hace falta contar con un mucho afán de aventura para correr ciertos riesgos. En breve se llevará a cabo tal arriesgada: la conquista del volcán más alto del mundo - ¡pero no se lo subirá a pie sino en un vehículo! Por lo demás, eso tomará lugar en Atacama, el desierto más seco del mundo, que tiene un paisaje parecido a la luna y que se caracteriza por rocas, arena y guijarros.
El aventurero es de Alemania, Limburg, y se llama Matthias Jeschke de 33 años. Su plan ambicioso: pretende establecer un nuevo récord de altitud en auto y llegar a una altura de más de 6,000 metros por medio de cuatro ruedas y, de esa manera, ganar el récord Guiness.
La marca máxima de 5,726 metros que ha existido hasta la fecha fue establecida por un equipo ruso-americano en el Himalaya en 1990. La posibilidad de que el equipo de Jeschke alcance los 6,000 metros es muy alta. Es porque ya
logró subir hasta una altura de 5915 metros hace unos meses en un viaje de exploración. Matthias Jeschke dispone de mucha experiencia como excursionista y conductor de rally y goza de buena reputación como experto en la escena europea. Tiene a su lado a Wilfried Studer de Wolfurt/Vorarlberg, un guía de expediciones y de montañas en el Himalaya, que tiene más de 20 años de experiencia. Studer conoce absolutamente bien los Andes. Jeschke y su equipo de siete integrantes están perfectamente preparados y bien aclimatados.
Durante las últimas semanas han explorado y medido intensamente el volcán más alto del mundo (en total: 6952m) para determinar el recorrido óptimo del viaje récord. Después del período de aclimatación en varios campamentos en el desierto, los aventureros ahora están en su camino a su destino... En grandes altitudes el aire se enrarece bastante y hace mucho frío con temperaturas de 20 grados bajo cero. Además, se encuentran bajo mucha presión poco antes del experimento.
Hay que considerar otra cosa: ¿cómo reaccionará la técnica del automóvil? No solamente los seres humanos sino también los vehículos necesitan el oxígeno. Total que el experimento que se llevará a cabo en breve no solamente representará una aventura para las personas sino también será una
prueba de fuego para el material utilizado y una demostración impresionante del desarrollo técnico relacionado a los vehículos todo terreno.
Jeschke realizará el experimento con un Toyota Landcruiser atravesando despeñaderos, campiñas
de rocas y glaciares. Entre las empresas que prestan apoyo al equipo de récord en forma de equipamiento se encuentran, entre otras, Tauenreuther-Warn, Panasonic, Haca, Ursa, Delta 4x4 y France Telecom. Para la documentación del experimento de récord servirán instrumentos láser de medida de Leica.
Se lo va a cautivar: ¿Lograrán Jeschke y su equipo conquistar el gigante sudamericano en cuatro ruedas?Les estamos poniendo al tanto.

ar - 2. Februar 2005. Dem Offroad-Spezialisten Matthias Jeschke ist jetzt mit seinem Team ein Weltrekord gelungen: Erstmals fuhr ein Automobil aus eigener Kraft auf eine Höhe von 6 000 Metern. Mit einem Toyota Land Cruiser erreichte das Team die Atacama-Wüste in Chile und den dortigen Ojos del Salado, mit fast 6 900 Metern der höchste Vulkan der Erde.

Bei ihrer sorgfältig vorbereiteten Rekordfahrt hatten es Jeschke & Co. in einer mondähnlichen Landschaft mit Temperaturen von bis zu minus 20 Grad Celsius zu tun. Die alte Bestmarke von einem russisch-amerikanischen Team stammt aus dem Jahr 1999 und lag bei 5726 Metern, aufgestellt im Himalaya-Gebirge. (hg)
